Hampshire County Cricket Club
Hampshire County Cricket Club is one in all England's oldest and maximum a hit ricket
clubs. Founded in 1863, Hampshire has a long history of local success, winning numerous county championships throughout its 150-year history. Playing at the Ageas Bowl stadium near Southampton, the club compete in all three formats of professional cricket – top-flight matches,limited events such as T20 Blast and One Day Internationals (ODIs).
The current squad is made up of exciting young talent including James Vince, who led England Under-19s to victory at last year's World Cup; Brad Taylor, recently called up to play for the England Lions; Mason Crane, who became Hampshire's youngest cricketer when he made his debut aged 17; Sam Northeast, whose batting form gave him the Wisden Almanack & each 2017; Liam Dawson on his bowling skills which earned him
international appearances earlier in the year. These players will be supported by veteran activists such as Fidel Edwards, Sean Ervine & Chris Wood forms a solid backbone for an exciting season!
Off the pitch there is plenty to do with new initiatives such as All Stars Cricket; The aim is to encourage children aged 5-8 to take regular cricket classes in Hampshire - a great way to get children of all backgrounds and abilities involved in a local team! They have also created Women in Sport Week, which aims to inspire more women to take up sport through engaging activities taking place at various locations in Hampshire
each summer.
